Intermixed is an excellent example of what NOT to do when making a niche porn site:

–DON’T have only 18 original videos representing your niche and then use generic filler content of the licensed crappy variety (none of which includes the specific niche the site is based on) to compose the bulk of your site.

–DON’T then let your license for said crappy filler content expire so that half of the filler content is broken.

–DON’T make claims such as “ALL COCKS ARE REAL! NO FAKES! WATCH THE VIDEOS AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!” and “MONSTROUS 16″ COCK” if you have clearly photoshopped the cocks in the tour:

Upon logging in to the members area of Abbraxa Porn you are greeted with a home page that has so many buttons, links, ‘updates’ and featured items that it makes you think there must be tons of stuff to see. But there isn’t much content to be found. After clicking everything I found zero photos and just 64 exclusive videos. The last update was 10/8/2009.

The “Bonus Pictures” galleries are broken. The “Bonus Videos” are broken. The “Downloadable DVDs – only for Sweet Memebrs!” cost $5.95 per SCENE. The “Full Screen Movies” are pay per view. Of all the bonus material the only things that work are the “Sweet galleries” which contain your typical generic selection of old licensed photos, and the “Daily Pee Lovers” videos which they stopped adding back in 2006.

At first glance 18 Ager seems to have a decent archive of content, but looking closer it’s not so great. About 40 of the photo sets are empty–there is a place holder in the index of photos, but it just says “0 photos”. And, all of the videos are broken up into 90 second clips with no way to watch the entire video. Who would want to watch a 30 minute video in 20 separate clips?? The last update was back on 5/2/2009 so it’s safe to assume there won’t be any more new content.

There are no thumbnails or descriptions for either photo sets or videos. So when you look at the index you have to make your choice on what to see based on such exciting video titles as “062_vid” or creative photo set titles as “279″. Come on this is 2011. For the ridiculously high price of forty bucks a month I expect some damn thumbnails.

Mikayla has a decent amount of content for  a personal site, but I don’t think she is updating any more. The last photo set was added on 3/12/2010 and the last video was added on 7/21/2010.

I can’t say it any better than her biggest fan:

Ok, so I could say it better (I would use real words), but the point is that her fans are disappointed that she forgot about her site. The reason fans are willing to pay so much money to be a member of their favorite porn star’s site is for the interaction with her. The tour promises all kinds of personal interaction with Mikayla–webcam shows, blogs, and private messages. But, she hasn’t written in her blog since 9/2009 or posted an audio blog since 4/2009. And no webcam shows at all.

I understand that it’s a lot of work to keep a solo site updated with new content all the time. But, if you are unable to do the job, you should stop taking people’s money.

The last update was waaaay back in 2006.

Upon logging in to Lesbian DVD Club you are greeted with a “DVD of the Day” at the top of the home page. Today’s featured DVD has screen shots of a latina girl sucking a dude’s cock. And the 3 upcoming videos all feature dudes as well. Wait, why are there cocks on a lesbian site?

The tour proudly claims “OVER 2000 FULL DVD’S” but at the top it says they have 3,695. So, which number is correct? Neither. At first I thought they had only 94 movies because the design and navigation is not great. There is no way to look at the full list of all the movies on the site. At least I couldn’t find it. After looking around a bit more I thought I found 471 more videos. But that number is inflated because they are posting each scene as though it’s a new video and they appear to be the same 94 videos that are listed on the home page as the “Latest DVD’s”. Just expanded by listing each scene separately.

They also say that they add a new DVD every day. But, there were only 17 movies added in 2010. Perhaps they were counting each scene separately. I can’t tell because there aren’t any dates on the individual scenes. Also, the last update was in Nov. 2010 so there might not be any more updates.

Whatever the explanation for the discrepancies, this site is kind of a rip off.
